Michelle Darnell, a Libertarian candidate running for the State Senate in Washington’s 48th Legislative District, advanced through the top two primary in a three way race. She will face off against Patty Kuderer, a Democrat, in the General election.
Miss Darnell received 23.66% of the primary vote.
This places the Libertarian Party one step closer to having another state legislator in the United States, only with this situation, she will be duly elected as a Libertarian and not elected as a Republican or Democrat first.
Should Michelle make it through the General election and win this race, she will be the first Libertarian elected as a Libertarian on the ballot since 2002. This is a race to watch, and Libertarians are excited at the opportunities they have been capitalizing on since the 2016 records made.
