I cried today while doing my annual tradition of reading the Declaration of Independence to my family. We have fallen so far from what our Founding Fathers fought to create. I choked up many times as I read the violations listed against Great Britain, realizing our own government has been violating many of them in today’s world.
I don’t know how we fell so far, but I can tell you that there is still hope. We have a chance to preserve our rights for future generations as long as we turn the tide of progressivism and not let up one inch.
So many lives have been lost to keep the dream of liberty alive. We cannot let their sacrifices be in vain. I ask each person to look to their children, and ask if you are doing all you can to make sure their futures are not squandered. Go to a war memorial and ask if you are willing to sacrifice a little more in their honor.
As you watch fireworks, eat hot dogs, and watch parades, remember that freedom has a price. We must remain eternally vigilant and stay firm in resolve. Every day we need to try to make our country a better place.
I hope you enjoy the time with families today. God bless and keep you.
