I am so very thankful that I have been afforded the opportunity to run for the U.S. House of Representatives, running for Utah’s 1st Congressional District. After much soul searching, researching, and discussing with my family, especially my dear Elizabeth, I have concluded that it is time.
I have already begun the process with the necessary paperwork, and will look forward to being on the campaign trail for the 2014 elections.
It is time that we as Americans look to the vision our Founders had for our nation, and move in that direction. We have come so far off course from the intent of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. My main goal is to bring back those values and principles to Washington D.C. as the representative from Utah.
Utah has always had a proud tradition of representing conservative values, and I hope that I will be able to continue that tradition. We stand for limited government, fiscal responsibility, and caring for our friends and neighbors. The people of Utah are some of the most ardent patriots you can find in America, and I am proud to count myself among such amazing and wonderful people.
The road will not be easy, the task ahead is in shift waters, but I know that if the people of Utah are willing to give me a chance, I will be able to help bring some sanity to our nation’s capitol.
Thank each and every one of you who have stood by me over the course of the years as I have contemplated what the best course to take would be. Thank you for everything.
I invite any and all questions, and look forward to working with you all.
